Constructed of freestone, this church is a good example of the 19th
century revival of the English Gothic style in ecclesiastical architecture.
Construction began in 1873, but the church was not completed until
1881. The tower was a later addition, built in 1901-02. In 1906, the
chimes of ten bells were installed, making this the only church in Truro
to have such a distinction at the time.
